While captivated by these amazing works of art, many stop and ask; "Who created this?". Even more inquire about how they can contribute to Herocraft's design and build things for the server.
Unlike most servers, Herocraft has several staff teams that are in charge of various elements within the community. The Architect Team is the staff team dedicated to bringing Herocraft the best and most ingenious architecture they can possibly create.
Through teamwork and collaboration, the Architect Staff is responsible for nearly all DHX structures on the server including Bastion Keep, the sands of Warshard, the design of ForgeLight and the Hell Gate in the Nether. Other structures such as the Warshard Boat, Dragon Roosts, and our Port Spires have been designed and created by other users during our architecture contests.
"The elite builders of the server; they're the ones with the insight to ensure projects are completed with the high level of creativity that rivals the Pantheon itself!"
-KainzoI'd say Kainzo nailed that one on the head.

Who Makes Up the Architect Team?
In the beginning of the server, the team was very small, consisting of a few people of whom were hand-picked by Kainzo to join the team and build on Herocraft's Kingdom map. Since then, the numbers have been ever-so increasing as more talented builders ask to play a role in the development of Herocraft.
They are:
Although the team is made up of so many people, there is always room for more Architects-to-be to join the staff team if they have what it takes to live up to, and exceed, Herocraft's reputation for outstanding architecture.
Unlike most teams, the Architecture Team has only one Leader - Kainzo. With some guidance from Gabizou, the team of members are all equals and nobody rules over anyone without the word of Kainzo first.
What exactly does the team do?
Architects are not just responsible for building alone. They are responsible for bringing the server to life with creations that will forever be associated with the Herocraft name. Any structure built or creation made is expected to have the highest level of imagination, depth, and detail possible. This can sometimes mean spending hours working on a single piece until it's done right and collaborating with other Architects so that their vision can strengthen the original one.
Currently Planned Projects
Aside from the Catacombs that are being worked on now, there are 3 large projects planned that future Architects could have a big hand in:
- Dungeons
- Arenas for our HeroGames hunger server
- Epic Show-off Pieces for Herocraft
Sound like something you're interested in Joining?
If so, you can apply on the forums in the Architect Application Sub-Forums after reading This Thread and making sure you properly understand the correct application format to use.
What are the prerequisites for being accepted onto the Team?
This is one of the most important questions to know the answer to if you're interested in joining the team and it's something that doesn't get asked often enough.
There are really only 4 conditions you must meet before you can expect to be considered for the team:
- Have lots of Experience on the Server - If your name is well known around the server, chances are you'll get a lot more recognition versus a player who is rarely active and has only been on the server for a week.
- Have a Unique eye for building - Creativity is everything! We don't want copycats or plain janes here; we want 100% originality in builds and in style.
- Be Patient - Our staff team is busy with tons of projects around the server as well as their personal projects. Sometimes they can't get to an application that hour or that day. Patience is a necessity for the Team and lacking it won't get you a spot on the team.
- Stay Active - The team needs team members who are active and able to help often. Players who are active and stay active will most likely be chosen over a member who has a habit of disappearing every other week.
The best thing you can do is provide excellent examples of your work on your application. Thinking outside the box and creating completely unique and Original pieces with lots of detail will surely get you some brownie points with the team and hard work does show.
Gabizou's Advice:
"Build with detail, depth and modesty. Nothing too basic; no "Gardens", no "Terraforming", and certainly no more "Here's my house! I built in survival!". I want to raise the bar of quality builds on Herocraft all around to even rival other creative building specific servers. I expect that, with these high quality builds Herocraft will have in the future, [this] will only benefit the server even more."
I wasn't accepted...
To anyone who applies and doesn't get accepted the first time - Don't be discouraged! Take Advantage of our Creative Server and create some awesome pieces to show the team what you're capable of and be sure to follow any advice they give you! If you show you're determined and constantly perfect your building styles and techniques, you're sure to get accepted! We hope to see some new applications pop up on our Forums and look forward to seeing some new faces on our Architect Team!
